Maria was Joys coworker at a part time job and she would hear Joy talking all these great things about her younger brother. until one day Joy said " let me set you up with him" Maria agreed thinking it was going to be just another date gone wrong...Boy was she wrong. April 26,2024 Colby texted Maria introducing himself and they hit it off over text, Just a couple of days later they went on their first date at Indian Run Falls and they talked for almost four hours. Their conversations were pure and humble, they laughed and shortly discovered Maria was a Astors fan and Colby a Guardians fan. They hugged goodbye in hope they would see each other again. Date after date they knew something was special about their time together. May 28th 2024, Colby took Maria to Easton mall on a date, they walked around and he had planned a scavenger hunt the word was "Novia?" which means girlfriend in Spanish the first yes to come! they celebrated with cheesecake factory. The rest is history, they made sure Christ was kept in the center at all times. Praying for one another as well as their relationship as a whole. Not too long after they introduced one another to their families. Maria loved how sweet Colby was with her siblings and how he started learning Spanish so he could have conversations with her parents and extended family. Colby loved how Maria was so interested in his family and getting to know them, He loved how Maria understood the importance of family. Holidays were so much special together, going trick or treating with her siblings. Baking pies for his family thanksgiving and going Christmas shopping together. To celebrating New Years together! Oh how faithful is the Lord that they got to thank him for a year of dating and reflecting on the growth they've had together. August 29th 2025, A day they will always remember. Maria thought she was just going to dinner with Joy to catch up on life. They walked around bridge park because their reservations got "pushed back" just to find Colby waiting for Maria where they had their first date, ready to ask her to marry him...She said YES!
