Please text Jordan (515-868-2952) or Giana (402-890-5387) directly!
Visit the ‘Things To Do’ section of this site for our recommendations on where to hangout and kill some time. Grab a snack. Pre-game, have a drink. Take a nap. It’s only 2 hours - you got this!
No, please don’t. Final vendor setup and such will be happening up until 4pm so this is the one time in your life where being early doesn’t mean you’re on time.
We’re staying at Hotel Fort Des Moines! We don’t have a block of rooms there but feel free to reserve a room if you’d like! Otherwise, discounted hotel rooms are available through our wedding room block - see the “travel” page of this website for those links!
Immediately following the ceremony, Jordan and Giana’s immediate family (parents, siblings, nephews/nieces, grandparents) and wedding party please stick around for a quick photo in the church. The church must be cleared by 2:30pm. Extended family photos, additional immediate family portraits, bride/groom portraits, and additional bridal party photos will take at the reception. We’re going to use the best light for portraits and the photographer will be telling us when that moment is right.
Yes.
Cocktail hour will hosted by the couple. Following cocktail hour it will be a cash bar for the rest of the night (they take credit card, you can open a tab, pay with venmo - total flexibility)
Outside of immediate family, the couple is requesting that both the ceremony and reception be an adult only affair.
Yes! It could get chilly (you never know what late September in Iowa will give us - 90 degrees or 54 degrees). Plan accordingly! Also - the house is a historic site and guests can tour the house during the reception
Yep! But make it formal (floor length). If you’re a bridesmaid + former Husker Cheerleader, bring a red dress to change into (if you want)
We have 4 hotel blocks reserved if you’d like to take advantage of that opportunity. See the ‘Travel’ page for those details. Otherwise, feel free to book whatever hotel or Airbnb you’d like!
Des Moines International Airport (DSM)
Yep!
For a black tie optional wedding, men can wear a tuxedo, but it's not a requirement. If they end up going tuxedo-less, they should wear a suit and tie instead. Women can go the long evening gown route, but a dressy suit is also an option. Rent The Runway is a fabulous option for formal dress rental! No subscription needed and you can rent designer gowns for as low as $30. I’ve rented from them many, many times!
