Travel/Stays

The Wedding Website of Ariel Her and Samuel Kellar
We'd prefer our guests to stay in the Waikiki area as hotels, shops, restaurants, and beaches are just a walking distance. Honolulu is about 15-min drive to Waikiki. North Shore will be about 45-mins to 1-hour drive from Waikiki. Note: traffic can be awfully long during rush hour. Parking can become difficult and very expensive. Hotel parking rates are $30+ per night - best option is to rent a vehicle for a portion of your trip. There are car rentals (Enterprise) available in Waikiki. Many streets have metered parking, enforced Monday-Saturday. FREE on Sunday. There is street sweeping so please pay attention to parking signs to avoid tickets/towing. For alternative transportation, you can take TheBus using the HOLO card to transit anywhere on the island. HOLO cards can be purchased at any Waikiki ABC Store, 7-Elevens, and the Skyline Rail Station vending machines. Single Fare: $3.00 Day Cap: $7.50 3-Day Pass: $20.00 7-Day Pass: $35.00 See below for Travel/Stay options:

Our Hotel Stay

We are staying at the VIVE Hotel Waikiki. Due to guests' different schedules, budgets, and accommodations needed, we will not be doing room blocks. Feel free to stay at any hotel that fits you! We'd love for guests to stay in Waikiki to be closer; more time spent together!

Map of Waikiki and Waikiki Favorites

Please click on the VIEW button below, second slide includes the map of all the hotels located in the Waikiki area that includes their resort fees and parking rates. Highly recommend to stay in Area III as it's most central. We've always resided in that area. We have stayed previously at: Wayfinder Waikiki (26) - back near the Ala Wai Canal. Pros: they have upgraded this hotel, has a great bar lobby and a secluded pool area. Aqua Skyline at Island Colony (2) - back near the Ala Wai Canal. Pros: they have a little convivence store onsite and washers/dryers that guests can use. Nice rooftop pool area as well - we loved these perks! VIVE Hotel Waikiki (24) - mid-section area (under 5 minute walk to beach). Pros: always FREE breakfast and coffee in the lobby. They provide all beach supplies you would need (towels, mats, beach bags, chairs, etc...). However, this place does NOT have a pool or balcony.

Orbitz.com / Hotels.com / Booking.com

Package Option: Orbitz.com / Hotels.com / Booking.com. You can select Packages (it includes flight and stay). We have always used Orbitz for traveling - never had any issues! Options to add a shuttle to the package if needed (to and from your hotel). Note: make sure you check the hotel distance from Waikiki Beach.

Travel Note

Airbnb/Vrbo

Great option for larger groups/families. In Waikiki, they are mostly condos/apartments. If you are staying outside of Waikiki, please check how far you are from Waikiki. Traffic can take long; a 5-mile drive could take an hour!
