About 6 months after I moved back to Fargo, Andrew and I matched on a dating app. I thought he seemed too good to be true so I was naturally suspicious wondering what the catch was. We exchanged a few messages and then he dropped the catch…He didn't live in Fargo, but 4 hours away in Vermillion, SD. I had set up a 30 mile radius on my app because naturally I wasn't interested in a long distance relationship. But fate had other plans and with Andrew visiting Fargo one weekend we had been allowed to match. For the next 6 weeks we exchanged messages. I was constantly wondering why I was still talking to this man. I didn't think we would actually ever meet but for some reason I couldn't stop and I was drawn to him. My face lighting up with every message exchange (She would send me four messages, all different conversations, one from each of her personalities). Then one weekend we did meet. Andrew was in Fargo to help his sister move and we were both out on the town for a St. Paddy's bar crawl. Eventually we found each other and I won the argument that Fargo's McDonalds are in fact not 24/7 (We only went to two McDonalds). The next weekend he came back to Fargo and we had our first date - dinner, axe throwing, and ending the night at Pixeled with some games and drinks. After that we spent almost every weekend together. Unless we had a previous commitment, I was either driving to Vermillion for the weekend or he was coming to Fargo. Obviously long distance dating has its struggles but we made the sacrifices to be together. One blizzard on a Valentine’s Day meet up did threaten to kill us at one point. After a year and a half of being long distance and many miles on our vehicles, Andrew agreed to move back up to North Dakota. On the 3 year anniversary of the day we met Andrew took me back downtown for dinner and a night cap at Pixeled (the spot we ended our first date) and got down on one knee. Despite both attending NDSU at the same time it wasn't until years later when we weren't even living in the same state that our paths crossed. We've had many adventures over the years, added to our family with another dog (She forced a dog on me), and now we are excited to start the rest of our lives together!
