This Italian restaurant from Austin's growing-up years in Phoenix is a delicious, nostalgic date spot of ours.
Sushi Friend
In lieu of the restaurant's direct website (which you can Google), enjoy an article on Sushi Friend making it into Yelp's 2023 top 3 sushi spots in the nation. Hands down, the best sushi we have ever had.
Texaz Grill
Best chicken-fried steak we've ever had! Extremely delicious and reasonably priced American food. The biscuits and fried okra are also noteworthy.
Huss Brewery
Home of Austin's favorite beer, Kofee Kolsch, and voted best brewery in the Valley in 2023. The Papago Orange Blossom beer is another one of our favorites. The downtown location offers a more expansive menu, the pretzel w/ beer cheese and anything with french fries are heavenly.
Spokes On Southern
Another one of Austin's old stomping grounds, Spokes on Southern is one of the places we still frequent for the tasty bites and patio views. In the adjacent park, there are lots of friendly turtles.
Glai Baan
Extremely authentic, award winning Thai Food. Tucked away in a converted bungalow in central Phoenix, they have a small but excellent menu with great options for shareable and spicy dishes. We love the pork dumplings, pad thai, and panang curry (emphasis on the dumplings).
Desert Botanical Garden
November is a lovely time of year to visit the scenic array of desert life at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The earlier morning visits usually increase your chances of seeing lots of birds, lizards, and rodents scurrying around in the plant life.

The Phoenix Art Museum is the largest museum for visual art in the southwest United States - hosting an expansive collection of international art.
