We met at work in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Our first official date was a pottery class in Philadelphia, where Alex pretended, unsuccessfully, to know how to operate a potter’s wheel. After a few more dates (that we called “Philadventures”), we decided that we really enjoyed each other's company.

Although we both live in New York state, we were still doing a long distance relationship. Alex lives in Ithaca, New York where he is in business school at Cornell University and I live in Brooklyn. During one of our nightly phone chats, I hear a knock on her door and it is Alex who has traveled hours to surprise me. He immediately gives me a hug and drops down on his knee to propose. Of course I say yes immediately!
