How We Met

January 1, 2017

We met at the absolute last place that either one of us thought we would meet our future husband/wife, a slot car store! My uncle asked me to help him out at his hobby store and I happily agreed. To this day, taking him up on that offer was the best decision that I have ever made. I remember Dylan being shy, but he was always so kind. I would stand behind the counter and just observe majority of the time and when he caught my eye I just knew that he wasn't like anyone else. Dylan recalls me being very outgoing, polite, and a fun person to be around. I never caught Dylan looking at me, but little did I know he was! We quickly became best friends! We spent so much time together at the store and talked constantly! There were days that Dylan would be the only customer and we would talk for hours. Eventually, our relationship started to evolve and we started dating! Now, here we are preparing for our wedding!! That store changed our lives. I think it made us both realize that every decision we ever made led us to each other.

The Proposal

November 17, 2019

I should be letting D tell the story of how we got engaged because his version is SO much better and includes all of the little twists and turns this sweet man went through to get to that one magical moment. We got up that morning and were going to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens with my family. I remember getting ready that morning and questioning him on his choice to wear shorts in NOVEMBER! Now, Dylan does tend to push the short weather a little further than the rest of us, typically he will wear them year round. What I didn’t know is that the ring box wouldn’t fit in his jeans pocket, so that was his only choice! All day long he walked around with this box bulging out of his pocket unbeknownst to me! I am a very visual person and consider myself very observant, but not once that day did I notice it! Dylan later told me that he strategically placed himself on one side of me all day long so that I wouldn't notice it! He had a plan to purpose under this mistletoe arch that we had taken pictures at in years past. We walked around the ENTIRE park and finally got to that spot and they didn't put that decoration up that year! Dylan and my parents were shocked (they already knew it was going to happen) So, we made our way close to the exit and Dylan and I took one last picture in another spot we like since our favorite spot wasn't up. My mom asked me to look at the picture more than once, which was odd because I'm usually catching eye rolls from her and Dylan for my request of multiple retakes lol. I handed my phone back to her because "she didn't like that one" and Dylan said he had to ask me something. I turned and he was down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!! Now, I'm not going to lie. At one point, I completely blacked out I was so in shock lol. In front of my family, the love of my life asked me to marry him and it was the easiest decision that I have ever made! Neither of us will ever forget that moment!
