If you know Tony and me, you know fitness is a big part of our lives. It’s where we find joy, challenge ourselves, and, as it turns out, where we found each other. We met in spin class (makes complete sense.) Over time, small interactions grew into conversations, and eventually, we started subtly coordinating schedules to end up in the same classes. Tony made it pretty clear early on that he liked me (I mean he asked me on at least over 100 dates.) I, however, thought it would be fun to keep him on his toes. I joked around and didn’t take things too seriously at first by calling our dates “not dates” for approximately 2 months. But I eventually realized he wasn’t just the nice guy from Cyclebar, he was actually someone I wanted to get to know. Fast forward to the 4th of July, when I decided to take matters into my own hands. I looked at him and said, “You’re my boyfriend now.” Tony literally just said, “Okay.” But I wasn’t going to let him off that easy. So, i told him “No, you have to ask me in a cute way.” That started what can only be described as a day-long challenge. Tony asked me to be his girlfriend about ten times that day and every time i rejected him. Until we were at a friends house and found one of the kids rings on the floor, which was this tiny ring with a blue whale on it (thank you Piper for your ring we stole). He used that ring to ask me, and that was finally when i believed it was good enough and told him it would suffice until it’s a real one. And yes, that tiny blue whale ring still sits on our bedside table. From the beginning, we’ve had this mix of humor, honesty, and the kind of connection that just feels right. Like the time, only a month into dating, we bought a scratch-off ticket and joked that if we won, we’d elope and move to Costa Rica. Spoiler: we didn’t win, but the idea of building a life together has been there ever since. Tony’s proposal was thoughtful and beautiful, a reflection of everything I love about him. It wasn’t just about the moment but the care he put into it, just like he does with everything that matters to him. Now, we’re so excited to celebrate our wedding day with the people who’ve been part of our journey. Thank you for being here—we can’t wait to share this moment with you!
