The easiest way to get to Manchester is to drive or rent a car. It is about a 4 hour drive from both NYC and Boston or 1.5 hours from Albany. Coming from NYC: Take the Amtrak train from Penn Station to Albany- Rensselaer (approx 3 hours). Then take the Greyhound Bus to Manchester, VT (approx. 1 hr). Will drop you off right in the middle of town, which is walking distance to our recommended hotels! Coming from Boston: There are a few Greyhound bus options from Boston (South Station) through Albany into Manchester. Coming from DC: You can either fly directly to Albany and then take the bus into Manchester or follow the NYC route up. Coming from Chicago: We recommend flying into NYC or directly into Albany International Airport. Coming Internationally: We recommend flying into 1 of 3 major New York City area airports- JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark. Or flying into Boston Logan International in Massachusetts. There is parking available on-site at Hildene. Please note, guests are not allowed on-site until 5pm. We will also have shuttles doing drop-offs and pick-ups from all the Hampton Inn, Taconic and Equinox Hotels for the ceremony. Shuttles will be picking up guests at 4:45pm. Please refer to the Accommodations/Travel page for detailed shuttle and transport information.
Hildene operates as a museum during the day from 10AM EST to 4:30PM EST, and will not allow wedding activities or guest arrival until 5PM EST.
Due to limited space, please do not bring a guest unless otherwise noted within your invitation. Thank you for your understanding!
For the Ceremony, the attire is Garden Cocktail. Includes bright/floral cocktail dresses or jumpsuits; Suits, jackets, and slacks. The Ceremony and Cocktail Hour will be on grass, so we recommend wearing block heels, flats, or wedges. For the Welcome Party, the attire is Smart Casual. Includes Blouses, Sundresses, button-downs, slacks or Khakis.
