FAQs

Friday update: Our Welcome Party is from 7:30-9:30 at Blue Chair Tavern (35 University Avenue in Downtown Sewanee). We will have two shuttle buses running continuously between the Sewanee Inn and Tavern, including a stop at Visitor Parking behind the McSwain House (1140 University Avenue) The shuttle route will run until 10:00. Rides will also be available by request until 11:45 if you need a ride back to off-campus housing, such as the Smokehouse. You can reach the shuttles by calling Sheila at 615-626-7964 or Bill at 615-300-6795. They will be driving white vans.
Question

When should I RSVP

Answer

We ask that you RSVP by April 1, 2025. If we do not get an RSVP back by the date listed, it will be marked as a "No." We have to provide a final guest count to our venue and cannot accept a late RSVP. We hope you understand!

Question

WHO DO I CONTACT WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?

Answer

If you have any major dietary restrictions, please contact Ceara.

Question

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

Answer

Due to space limitations, we regretfully ask our guests to not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation. If your plus one is unable to attend, please reach out to the bride before bringing an alternative guest in their place.

Question

WHERE SHOULD WE STAY?

Answer

We were able to secure a handful of rooms at The Sewanee Inn. If you would like to stay in a hotel, we recommend Jim Oliver's Smoke House. If you prefer a house rental, you can visit https://new.sewanee.edu/alumni/accommodations/ or Airbnb.

Question

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Answer

We ask that guests arrive at the Inn between 4 and 4:25, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30.

Question

Are there ride shares/driving services?

Answer

Because of Sewanee's isolating charm, there are no ride-share options. Uber and Lyft will not make it up the mountain. We suggest that you carpool with your friends.

Question

Note about cell service:

Answer

The charm of Sewanee is its isolation. Cell phone service is sparse, and some services work better than others. We wanted our favorite people to have a warning for that. If you're worried about that, please reach out to either Ceara or Henry.

Question

How can I contact you?

Answer

If you have either of our numbers, please give us a ring. If not we can be reached by email at ceara.henry.ray@gmail.com.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our dress code for the wedding is Semi-Formal, meaning tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. The bride asks that no one wears anything pink, white, or green as they are the colors of the wedding.
