Scott & Laura met in college at Christopher Newport University. They first became Facebook friends in 2017, discussing general details of their upcoming college adventures. Laura proceeded to wish Scott a happy birthday every year, when she got the reminders. Like any other love story, Scott and Laura obviously forgot all about this until they met three years later. In January 2020, Scott and Laura officially met at a mutual friend's birthday dinner/party. They exchanged numbers and quickly bonded over many, many phone games. (Eventually Scott was winning by too much so they stopped keeping score :) Scott & Laura became inseparable, playing the Wii, board games, late night subway runs, and watching shows & movies. They left campus early due to the pandemic, but kept in contact all summer. When they returned in August for their senior year, they decided to take the extra step, and they both immediately knew they found something special. At the end of college in the summer of 2021, Scott moved back to California and Laura continued with her Master's Program. They remained long-distance for a year and a half, only connected by three visits and daily facetime calls. There was never a doubt these two would find their way back, and in February of 2023, Scott got a job offer to return to the Hampton Roads. After a year of reuniting, Scott finally mustered the courage to purchase a ring... and proceeded to hide it for 6 months. (HOW RUDE!) However, as you may have possibly guessed, he did finally get around to it. He gathered a group of their closest friends, took them to Virginia Beach for some minigolf, and a nice walk on the beach. When the moment was right, during some couples pictures, Scott knelt down and said the four most important words of his life. "Ow, my knee hurts" (or something like that) Laura immediately said yes, and the entire beach (all 8 people) exploded with applause! And there you have it! Our journey together has had its ups and downs, much like the roller coasters we love so much. And while it is still very much beginning, we are looking forward to many more memories to come. And trust us... Laura will take plenty of pictures!
