How We Met

Written by Mackenzie

Addison and I met at Crooked Can for an informal Disney Intern trivia event soon after I moved to Orlando. I was late to arrive and the tables were full of people. After causing a scene to find the last seat, I looked up and noticed Addison. It was love at first sight. Although the seating arrangement prevented us from talking that evening, that same week we were the first to arrive at EPCOT for a group hangout. Just a few rides and great conversations confirmed he was the one. We said "I love you" 20 days later.

Our First Date

Written by Addison

For our first date, I planned us a day trip to the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg, complete with a long car ride! The drive was a laugh riot, and we enjoyed every moment with the contemporary art at the museum. Wanting to continue the fun, we decided to check out the street market by the bay. Before I knew it, Mackenzie came running up to me, draped with three or four LIVE SNAKES that she had been handed by a local madman. I scrambled to pay the man for his snakes’ services and, all the while, she danced around with her slithering friends like it was the most normal thing in the world. I realized then and there that she was crazy, but more than that… I was crazy about her!

The Proposal

Written by Addison & Mackenzie

Since we designed the ring together and Mackenzie joked, “You better propose by November!” making the proposal a surprise was a challenge—but one that Addison was determined to take on. On November 3rd, Addison spent the day with friends from out of town and invited Mackenzie to join them for drinks at Dahlia Lounge at Coronado Springs Resort, one of our favorite spots. Mackenzie assumed it was just a casual evening and didn’t suspect a thing. After sharing an espresso martini, we headed toward dinner at Three Bridges, but Addison stopped at a gazebo overlooking the water at sunset. He was extra sentimental, talking about how much he loved Mackenzie and how “we’re forever.” When he got down on one knee, Mackenzie couldn’t stop giggling and immediately said yes. It was the perfect proposal in a place filled with so many happy memories.
