In your invitation, there will be a note on where you will be assigned on campus and a link to pay for your accommodations. Don't worry, we'll house you near your besties or people we think you'll get along with! The HOC Cabins are winterized with 2 bunk beds in each room, 4 rooms in each cabin. There is electricity in these cabins. There are two all-gender shared bathrooms with private shower and toilet stalls. We will mostly be putting only 2 people/1 couple to each room. The tents are spread out in "units" around campus. There is a shared washhouse in each unit with private toilet and shower stalls. There are outlets in the washhouses, but not in the tents. Tents will have twin size cots in them. If you're in a tent and want to bring your air mattress, please do! We've done it before and it was great. Linens are provided for all Hulbert accommodations.
The reception meal is obviously included for all guests! :) If you are staying on Hulbert's campus, Saturday Breakfast & Lunch and Sunday Brunch are included in the cost of your accommodations. If you are staying off campus, but still would like to enjoy all the on campus meals (including Sunday brunch) during the weekend, you are able to purchase a meal package here: bitly.cx/vg2E.
In Vermont in September, it can definitely vary, particularly from day time to night. Be sure to bring layers for the welcome party and wedding/after party. Once the sun sets it can get chilly!
Welcome party: We know you're traveling, so come in whatever you're comfy in! Casual is welcomed. Saturday morning/afternoon: It's camp! Wear your normal casual day wear. Wedding: Garden cocktail attire - what does this mean?? Think normal cocktail attire, then scale it back to a garden party type outfit, a bit of both if you like! That could be a dress, jumpsuit, pant suit, suit, or blazer and slacks. What about the SHOES? The bride and groom will both be rocking some snazzy sneaks, so we encourage you to do the same! Have a pair of Jordans that are dying to be worn? Bust them out! Or pair your dress with cute fashion sneakers. We recommend against wearing any type of high heel as your heel will absolutely sink into the ground. Still want a little height? - wedges are the best option. After party: get warm and cozy! Sunday breakfast: Casual!
Since it's camp - here's a packing list! :) -Wedding wear (outfit, shoes, accessories, belt) -Shower shoes (if on campus, crocs/flip flops), optional -headlamp, flashlight (or use your phone) -layers for mornings and evenings -hat, wool socks (in case it's chilly at night!) -daytime clothes/travel clothes for Saturday day and Sunday -socks & undies -raincoat - never hurts to be prepared! -chargers, external batteries for your phone (optional) -toiletries, hair products, hair styling implements -air mattress & linens (if you are staying in a tent and want to bring one - they can be blown up in the washhouses where the outlets are. HOWEVER, make sure you layer blankets UNDER the sheets to have a barrier between you and the cold air in the mattress - we know from experience...) -reusable water bottle - Vermont water is great and can be drunk out of the tap! -cash if you'd like to partake in the cash liquor bar (wine, beer, & hard seltzers included) -your dancing shoes (literally and figuratively - we WILL be having a great dance party!) -a sense of humor -an adventurous spirit
Not very! Depending on your service provider there is varying cell service. There is guest wifi available in the main building. HOWEVER, since it is camp, we encourage you to be present! Leave those phones in your tents/cabins or turn them on airplane mode if you'd like to use them as cameras. One of the best things about camp is being able to disconnect from the world and truly connect with those around you.
As much as we would love to have all the kiddos join us, we are limited by space and are only able to have a few close family children attend.
Guests staying on campus are allowed to arrive and move into their housing at 4pm on Friday. Hulbert staff will welcome you when you arrive and direct you to your accommodations. If you are staying off site, please join us for the Welcome Party on Friday evening.
If you're planning to arrive Friday afternoon before dinner, you're welcome to move into your accommodations at Hulbert and then can go out to find a meal before the welcome party. Here are some local options: Broken Hearts in Fairlee (5 min drive) Git R Pork in Fairlee (5 min drive) Samurai Soul Food in Fairlee (5 min drive) Colatina Pizza in Bradford, VT (10-15 min drive) Tuk Tuk Thai Cuisine in Hanover , NH (15-20 min drive) Molly's in Hanover, NH (15-20 min drive)
Friday's welcome party & Saturday's after party (post reception) are BYOB. Here are a few places to purchase drinks if you so choose: -The NH State Liquor store & General store along I-93 is a great place to grab what you need on your way up. -Wings is right in Fairlee and is usually pretty well stocked! -Hannaford in Bradford, VT has a big selection of beer, wine, & liquor. There will be beer, wine, and hard seltzers at happy hour & the reception until 9pm. You can also purchase any cocktails with cash from the bar if you'd like. While the bar will close at 9pm, never you fear, we've got the rest of the reception covered ;)
