There are a few ways to get to Sarandë! The most direct way (and the way we recommend) is to fly into Corfu, Greece (Corfu International Airport or CFU). From there, you will easily be able to get a ferry over to Sarandë as the ferry port is about 10 minutes from CFU. Ferry rides are 30-45 minutes from Corfu and the last ferry of the night typically leaves around 8pm. In order not to stress yourself about getting a ferry on time after a flight, we encourage you to spend a night or two in Corfu to explore as it is a beautiful place! That way, you have all the time in the world to grab a ferry to Sarandë. Once in Sarandë, you can get a taxi over to your hotel. Alternatively, you can fly into Nënë Tereza International Airport in Tirana, Albania. From there, it will be about 3.5-4 hours by car to get to Sarandë. This would be a fun way to go if you’re hoping to see more of the country and don’t mind a roadtrip! Please see the Travel Section for more information on transport and accommodations.
Most folks in Albania, especially the ones that do transport and hospitality, do speak English so you should be good. If you’d like to learn a bit of Albanian, check out this website: linguaboost.com
Yes! We’ll be staying at Hotel Butrinti, which is about a 5 minute drive from our venue. Here’s the link to check out the hotel: https://hotelbutrinti.al We would love it if all our guests can stay at Hotel Butrinti too! However, there are a few other hotels just a stone’s throw away from Hotel Butrinti that are wonderful. Links are below. We would love our wedding to have an elegant, formal feel atop the castle, so we are asking for formal/black tie attire. Bridesmaids will be wearing French blue. It can get windy at our venue and since our event will be outdoors, please plan accordingly and bring something warm to wear over your beautiful outfits!
We kindly ask that this be an adults only event.
Unless specified on your invitation, we kindly ask that you don’t bring a plus one.
There is a bit of parking at the castle, but driving in Albania isn’t particularly fun. We’d advise taking a taxi or bus to get up to the castle! That way, you can imbibe all you want and still get home safely!
