Question

How do I get to Sarandë?

Answer

There are a few ways to get to Sarandë! The most direct way (and the way we recommend) is to fly into Corfu, Greece (Corfu International Airport or CFU). From there, you will easily be able to get a ferry over to Sarandë as the ferry port is about 10 minutes from CFU. Ferry rides are 30-70 minutes from Corfu depending on the ferry, and the last ferry of the night typically leaves around 8pm. In order not to stress yourself about getting a ferry on time after a flight, we encourage you to spend a night or two in Corfu to explore as it is a beautiful place! That way, you have all the time in the world to grab a ferry to Sarandë. Once in Sarandë, you should easily be able get a taxi over to your hotel. Alternatively, you can fly into Nënë Tereza International Airport in Tirana, Albania. From there, it will be about 3.5-4 hours by taxi/car to get to Sarandë. This would be a fun way to go if you’re hoping to see more of the country and don’t mind a roadtrip! As a heads up, you can anticipate 2-3 layovers on your way to Albania, especially if you are coming from the West Coast.

Question

Do I need to know Albanian to get around?

Answer

In Albania, English is widely spoken, particularly among professionals in transportation and hospitality. Navigating the country should be relatively easy for English speakers. If you're interested in learning a few Albanian phrases, we recommend exploring language resources like Lingua Boost podcasts and the Ling app, which offer free lessons and interactive practice to help you connect with the local culture.

Question

What’s accessibility at the venue like?

Answer

Our historic castle venue has some architectural limitations for guests with mobility considerations. The multilevel space features paved but uneven terrain and requires navigating steep staircases to move between areas. Since there are no elevators, we want to ensure all guests are aware of these accessibility challenges in advance.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Stay tuned as we update this section with more information.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We envision an elegant, formal celebration atop the castle and kindly request formal/black tie attire. Gentlemen should wear suits or tuxedos, while ladies are invited to don floor-length gowns. We kindly ask that guests avoid short dresses, T-shirts, jeans, flip-flops, or any casual attire that might detract from the sophisticated atmosphere. Our wedding party will be beautifully coordinated, with bridesmaids in dusty blue and groomsmen in navy. Given the outdoor venue and potential for wind, we recommend bringing a stylish wrap or jacket to keep warm while maintaining your elegant ensemble.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we kindly ask that this be an adults-only event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unless specified on your invitation, we respectfully request that you don’t bring a plus one as we need to be mindful of our venue’s capacity. Additionally, invitations are nontransferable. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Will transportation to and from the venue be provided?

Answer

We are unable to provide transportation to and from our venue at this time. There is parking available at the venue, but driving isn’t always the most fun thing to do in Albania - we highly recommend getting a taxi to and from the venue!

Question

What are the passport requirements to get to Albania?

Answer

For US citizens entering Albania, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the date of your arrival to the country. For example, if you arrive May 12th, your passport must be valid till at least August 12th. No tourist visa is required for entry.
