Westbound & Down Brewing Company
Westbound and Down is one of our favorite breweries in the area. The atmosphere is laid-back and modern and their original craft beers are wonderful (Jason knows his stuff when it comes to beer, trust us). Their connecting restaurant, The Buffalo is delicious, too!
Tommyknocker Brewery
Tommyknocker Brewery is a popular spot for people to stop for some post-hike beers and apps. We've heard their root beer (made in-house) is a must-order when visiting here!
Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery
Clear Creek specializes in serving Colorado-made hard ciders and also offers food. If you need a break from all the craft beers (Colorado has an obsession) and want to try something new, stop in to Clear Creek and order a flight!
Main Street Restaurant
The best breakfast in Idaho Springs! Main Street Restaurant has a large menu (with delicious Eggs Benedict selections) and amazing hash browns. We've only had their breakfast, but believe they serve lunch, as well.
MTN Prime
A higher end restaurant in the area- Jason loved their surf and turf! We got take out here on the night we were supposed to get married to do something special.
Beau Jo's Idaho Springs
Famous for their Colorado-style thick crust pizza and served with honey for dipping. We ordered from here after we hiked our first 14er and pizza has never tasted better! Highly recommend stopping here after a hike.
The Frothy Cup
Surprisingly, there are not a lot of coffee shops in Idaho Springs, but The Frothy Cup is all you'll need!
Smokin Yard's BBQ
Named one of the best barbecue spots in Colorado by Jason and one of Jamie's (very particular when it comes to food) co-workers.
Wabi Pottery
You may need 4WD to get here, but it's worth it! Forrest Anderson makes beautiful and affordable pieces. His wife is lovely and may stop in if they're home. The shop is on the owner's property, and is self-serve.
Chief Mountain Trailhead
This trail is 3.1 miles long and is rated as Moderate. Offers beautiful 360 degree views of mountains at the summit. About 30 minutes from Idaho Springs. We recommend downloading the app "AllTrails" on your phone to get the address for the trailhead.
St Mary's Glacier
1.9 miles long and rated as Moderate. This is a popular hike with gorgeous opportunities for pictures. About 30 minutes from Idaho Springs. We recommend downloading the app "AllTrails" on your phone to get the address for the trailhead.
Silver Dollar Lake Trail
This trail is 4.1 miles long and is rated as Moderate. It offers great views of the Rockies and stops at 3 different mountain lakes. Highly recommend! We recommend downloading the app "AllTrails" on your phone to get the address for the trailhead.
