If you went to Marquette, you're familiar with a lovely establishment called Judges. Famous for their hole in the wall decor, Thursday night deals & Touchtunes jukebox, it was here where Heidi & Neil met for the first time & bonded over the Red Hot Chili Peppers & 25 cent beers. After exchanging numbers and texts back and forth, they hung out and watched The Big Lebowski, went on their first date to a local sushi spot and the rest is history. Since then they've enjoyed countless concerts, MU basketball games, living together in Chicago, their travels to new countries and most recently purchasing their own home! They've kept the adventure going for almost 11 years and cannot wait for their future together as Mr. & Mrs.
After two weeks in Europe, Neil & Heidi planned a Milwaukee weekend with Neil's brother & sister-in-law for the Cubs vs. Brewers game (or so Heidi thought). While Heidi continued to plan all the bars & spots to give Brendan & Laura the full MKE experience, Neil continued to appease Heidi & her incessant need to plan (knowing none of these plans would actually happen). Fast forward to a lunch at Harbor House where they sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful MKE weather, they had some time to kill before "the game" so Neil suggested a walk along the lakefront. As Neil meandered around the pier, Heidi continued to remind him that they had to go back to their hotel so she could change into her Cubs gear. Before she knew it, Neil got down on one knee and asked Heidi to marry him (obviously she said yes!). After being in complete shock & making multiple phone calls (most of which were unsuccessful/declined) & countless questions from Heidi on how he kept it a secret during their trip, Neil rounded out the perfect day with a surprise party full of their closest friends & family (aka all of the people who declined her phone calls) and a nightcap at their favorite MKE bar, The Harp. It was only fitting for Neil to pop the question in the city where it all began and it'll be a day they'll never forget.
