The best views in Northern Humboldt. There are many beautiful little beaches and surf spots along this road.

Cal Poly Humboldt Marine Laboratory

Where Heidi spent many of her lab class sessions and conducted student research. See the aquarium tanks, whale skulls, and step outside for the touch tank!

Arcata Community Forest

We spent many of our first dates here! For our first Valentines Day, we snuck away from work and Jaryd brought me spring rolls for lunch. We have spent countless hours wandering the trails through the trees.

Arcata Plaza Farmers' Market

Our favorite way to spend Saturday morning. Good music, great people and delicious food! Stop by Brio for coffee and pastries, or have the best shrimp and octopus ceviche of your life right on the plaza!

Old Town

Walk around the Friday Night Market if you are in town, one of the best events ongoing through the summer. During the day, check out the shops, take a Humboldt Bay tour on the Madaket, or have Sunday brunch at Cafe Waterfront with live Jazz!

Larrupin' Cafe

Our first fancy date, numerous birthdays, and where we celebrated our engagement!! It is simply the best restaurant in the county, and the best steak you will ever have! Reservations recommended.

Trinidad Bay Eatery & Gallery

Heidi's favorite restaurant! We highly recommend the Mussels and Fries in Dijon Cream Sauce, the Mussels Fra' diavolo, and the fish special! You can't go wrong with any of their breakfast, and for a unique wine try Trousseau Gris by Two Shepards.

Susukino Ramen Bar

Jaryd's favorite restaurant! You can't go wrong with any of the broths, but be sure to sub chashu pork for ground pork. The fried chicken and Cha-han fried rice should also not be missed! Their specialty cocktails are truly spectacular, or try the Creme de Sake!

Phatsy Kline's Parlor Lounge

The first place Jaryd and I ever hung out, during a work event! Bar and Tapas restaurant. Dining is available in the historic Eagle House ballroom, where you can look up and see a 3 story stained glass ceiling!
