This story starts on a Friday in the late summer of 2024, with, what some have said, is one of the greatest Bumble dates to ever take place. Well, the first date wasn’t entirely a success - the unpredictable weather characteristic of a North Carolina summer decided to send a rainstorm their way, stranding Heidi downtown without an umbrella and muddling the pair’s plans for a low-stakes round of mini golf. Despite the elemental setback, Heidi and Colton enjoyed a dry (mostly) evening full of ponderous discussion, lively banter, several games of pinball, and a round of hot dogs at The Cardinal. Heidi and Colton may not have known it at the time, but it was that very night that they became what so many couples hope to be: best friends. Naturally, mini-golf was re-scheduled for that Sunday (this time in an indoor facility) with Colton claiming a victory, and thus the ire of Heidi’s competitive nature. So…naturally…a third round of golf was scheduled the very next day (Labor Day), at the world-renowned Garner Country Club. This time, Heidi’s nearly flawless performance off the tee helped her coast to an easy win and a victory dinner of Fajitas and Margaritas. From that point forward, Heidi and Colton were nearly inseparable, with any outside observer clearly seeing a deep love developing between the two of them. An untold number of card games, concert tickets, ice-cream shops, small-towns-explored, and Friday nights of delicious cooking, a cat named Moonshine, and a dog named Louis then followed. All of these small, cherished moments led to a wooden pier on a balmy Carolina summer day, when Colton got on one knee and asked Heidi a very important question. That leads us to where we are today, with Colton and Heidi ready to say “I do” and have you with them to celebrate this special life milestone together.
