Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes. The bar will be open and staffed from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Question

Where are some good places to stay?

Answer

The ideal place to stay is at Shaker Village. It will be more expensive but the location is hard to beat. Be forewarned that these slots will fill quickly. NOTE: during checkout, you can use the code 16162 to get the wedding discount. Alternatively, if you are an AARP or military member you can get the same discount by marking this at checkout. Outside of Shaker Village, in the highest recommendation order, we recommend staying in: 1. Danville - $, 19min drive, a fair amount of accommodations 2. Lexington - $$, 50min drive, plenty of accommodations, near the airport 3. Nicholasville - $$, 35min drive, difficult roads 4 Harrodsburg - $, 10min drive, limited accommodations

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

This wedding is during a Kentucky summer and the venue will not have AC so you can expect it to be hot. Rain is possible but is a low probability. Everyone will be able to fit inside the venue in case of rain.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

This wedding is semi-formal or dressy casual. In other words, wear something nice that you feel good in. There are many things to consider when packing for this wedding but the items that stand out are: it will be hot and you will be walking around on pea gravel. So dress in breathable layers and practical shoes. We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy the celebration more than you being dressed to the nines.
