We're gettin' hitched!

The story behind how we met is almost right out of a fairy tale. The summer after Heide’s first year at Princeton and my second year at Centre, we both independently got into a summer research program through Princeton. Rather than ending up in New Jersey, though, the program took place in Nove Hrady, Czech Republic in a beautiful castle that was turned into a research facility! Then, as fate has it, we were randomly assigned to be lab partners. In a group of many students, only two got lab partners–us! From the moment we met, it may not have been love at first sight, but there was definitely chemistry (pun intended!). We became fast friends that summer, bonding through lots of late afternoons at the microscope and hunched over a small shared desk in the lab. Thanks to a lot of long phone calls and flights back and forth from Kentucky to New Jersey, we started dating a few months after our internship had ended, and continued to date through college, through my time in Wisconsin, and now in Boston. We’re so grateful to have each other, our beautiful house, and our adorable border collie Marlow, and are excited to move onto our next chapter together!
