Flight

Split Airport (SPU)

Split is a beautiful coastal city, rich with entertainment, historical sites, and incredible dining options. We recommend arriving a few days early to explore the city and nearby islands, such as Hvar. The closest airport is Split Airport (SPU), from which taxis, ride-sharing services, and buses are available for transportation to Split. The city center hosts the majority of Split's attractions, shops, restaurants, and nightlife.

Where to stay

We will be staying at Hotel Amphora near Žnjan beach, a 10 minute drive east of the city center. We would love for you to join in on the sea views with us! If you prefer a fully walkable vacation close to the action, we recommend renting an Airbnb or looking for a hotel within a 20 minute walk of Diocletian's Palace. The residential areas of Varoš and Spinut, nestled between Marjan Park and the city center, are great options.

Travel Note

Know before you go

For transportation within Split, ride-sharing options include Uber and Bolt, with Bolt often offering more economical fares. Most trips can be done on foot as Split is extremely walkable, but if you've decided to stay further from the city center or along the beaches, ride-shares, taxis, and public buses are quick and convenient. If you are arriving at Split Airport (SPU) and are staying in the area, we generally don't recommend renting a car. However, last year we arrived in Split by car as we were travelling across Croatia. We parked on the streets just outside the city center near our Airbnb and found the paid lots to be more trouble. Croatia uses Type F electrical outlets. We recommend getting adapters ahead of time on Amazon, but you'll also find them at airports or local shops when you arrive.
