U.S. citizens now require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to visit the UK for short stays, including tourism in addition to your passport. It costs about $15 but it's a quick and easy form to fill out BEFORE you leave the U.S.

How to apply: You can apply for an ETA online through the UK Government website or the UK ETA app.
