Eight years ago, Adrianna had just gone through a breakup around the holiday season. At that time, she was working as a Medical Assistant at a Patient First urgent care center, and Diana, Hector’s sister, worked there too. Knowing that Adrianna was now single, Diana talked up the idea that she should go on a date with her brother, Hector. She showed Adrianna pictures of him, but Adrianna wasn’t interested. She was still healing from her breakup and had decided to focus on her studies and career instead. That Spring, Diana graduated as a radiology tech and invited Adrianna to her graduation party. She went with her friend and coworker, Evelia. As they were getting ready to leave, a stunningly handsome young man pulled up on his motorcycle. Adrianna didn’t recognize him, so she asked, “Who is that?” Diana casually replied, “That’s my brother, Hector.” Without thinking, Adrianna texted Diana saying how handsome she thought Hector was. Much to Adrianna’s embarrassment, Diana showed Hector the text! She then quickly introduced them to each other. They exchanged a quick hello but didn’t talk much. After the party, Adrianna couldn’t stop thinking about Hector. So, a few days later, in a moment of bravery, she texted Diana that she would be going salsa dancing with a group of college friends at Havana '59 in downtown Richmond that Thursday night. Adrianna asked Diana to invite Hector to join them. She figured it was a long shot –they hadn’t talked much at Diana’s party- but she had also caught Hector’s attention. He was drawn to her long, dark hair, her maturity, and interesting scar on her eyebrow. That Thursday, Adrianna and her friends went to happy hour at the Tobacco Company before heading to their final destination, Havana ‘59. Diana had texted Adrianna saying Hector would be at Havana '59 around 9pm. Adrianna, caught up in the excitement of being out for the first time in forever, lost track of time, so Hector arrived before she did. While waiting, Hector, who doesn’t drink, decided to have a Mojito and texted Diana asking where Adrianna was. Diana quickly sent a text to Adrianna letting her know Hector was at Havana ’59 and looking for her. She immediately jumped in an Uber to meet him! As soon as Adrianna and her friends arrived at Havana ’59, Hector and Adrianna began dancing. Because Adrianna’s friends were so excited about her being out for the first time since her big breakup and because of she was nervous about meeting up with Hector, she may or may not have had one too many cocktails. Those drinks soon caught up with her, but Hector, ever the gentleman, stayed by her side, ensured that she was safe, and kept bringing her plenty of water. It was at that moment Adrianna fell for Hector. Likewise, Hector couldn’t stop thinking of the young lady with the big, beautiful smile who loved salsa dancing and how her long, dark hair swung around on the dance floor.
