Sean popped the question in the Catskill Mountains in NY. It was a beautiful, sunny day in June 2018. We were on a hike with our friends to go see the Kaaterskill Falls when he pulled me aside to walk along the river rocks. Everyone was in on the plan except me. I was totally surprised when Sean started fidgeting with something in his pocket and then got down on one knee with the ring. I honestly cannot remember what he said, I blacked out, but I'm sure it was beautiful. His proposal will always be remembered because I interrupted him as he was down on one knee to yell to my friends, "Guys! Something's happening!" We continued our hike to the Kaaterskill Falls where Mel had planned an impromptu champagne toast under the water fall. After an arduous hike up to the top of a huge stone staircase on the side of the mountain we made it back to the car and drove to Colgate Lake. Again to my surprise, my future sisters and mother-in-law were there to greet us and spend a nice afternoon on the lake. To top off this incredible day, Sean's mom, Mary, brought us all out for dinner at the Chicken Run Restaurant in Windham, NY where we ate a delicious dinner, played corn hole, danced to a live band, and had our first dance as an engaged couple under the fireworks.
