Aunt Karen has been a huge support in the brides life as her father's only sister. She was there to teach Heather to ride a horse and was her Guardian through the hardest part of her life. Heather is honored for Karen to walk her down the aisle, sending her off to the next chapter of her life with Denzel.
Suzi Oliver
Mother of the Groom
Suzi aka Mumsy comes from the land down under. She can throw a boomerang 100 meters, and spent her late teen years in a kangaroo wrestling travelling circus, selling fresh "bobbied" shrimps. Jokes aside, she raised Denzel and his two siblings (Earl, and Kiarra). Some of Denzel's favorite memories with his mom, are religiously watching 24 and doing Jack Bauer impressions, and watching American idol together screaming at the tv who they want to win. Holidays were the best time of year in the house, and Denzel's favorite dish is her sweet potato casserole. Denzel will always be her beautiful "stinky lolly". Denzel appreciates that she will be there for his Big Day.
Wendy Bruns and Melissa Nop
Co-Maids of Honor
There is a long history of 24 years of friendship and sisterhood between Heather, Wendy and Melissa. They grew up together dreaming of the day they could be each other’s Maids of Honor. The day has finally come for Heather and she couldn’t be more excited and grateful to have Wendy and Melissa by her side. From playing with Barbies and their stuffed animals, Skunky, Robert and Teddy Jr. to staying up late at sleep overs while Melissa did their nails. Throughout the childhood, awkward adolescence, high school, college and beyond, Heather wouldn’t be where she is today without the love and support of Wendy and Melissa and cannot wait for the day they have dreamt about their entire lives.
Enrique Martin del Campo
Best Man
Enrique and Denzel have always considered themselves Hetero Life Mates because their friendship exceeds Best Friend status. They are "twinsiez" because they are basically the same person. They met at the age of 11 because they rode the same bus to middle school together. They bonded in band, Denzel playing the trumpet and Enrique playing the Saxophone. They spent lots of band practices together and have been an unbreakable pair ever since. There are too many moments of unbreathable laughter, excitement, and debauchery to list. They trained a whole summer for a chicken nugget eating contest for crying out loud! Enrique has always been by Denzels side and can’t wait to support him on this momentous day. Denzel is honored to call Enrique his best man.
Tasha Van Leuven

Tasha joined the OG crew in High School. The past ~12 years have consisted of concerts, Spooktacular Halloween parties, and a beautiful wedding of her own. They love bonding over everything Disney and baby fever. Tasha can't wait to celebrate the couple and return the favor as a beautiful bridesmaid!
Shabir Ahmed
Groomsman
Shabir and Denzel met at UCSC through the Rainbow Theater club. Shabz was the Codirector of the Poet's Corner and Denzel was the CoDirector of the Kadence Keys (musical band). They connected through both. Shabz is a phenomal lyricist and Denzel is a talented musician. So of course they had to do a collab! Dr. Shabz album "Knowledge of the Scalpel" was still being written/recorded when Denzel was introduce to the project. Together, these two made some stellar songs. All of course with the help from the studios leader and super amazing producer Tauvin. Ever since, Shabir and Denzel have continued to be great friends and produce great things. Denzel is honored to call Shabir his groomsman.
Sierra Hinds
Bridesmaid
Sierra and Heather met while working together at Java Junction in Santa Cruz. They initially found connection in both being Anthro majors after graduating from UC Santa Cruz. Their friendship truly blossomed after hanging outside of work per Heather's friendship requirement. They enjoyed many arts and crafts days and a road trip up to Oregon/Seattle. The wedding day wouldn't be complete without her!
Aontae Davis
Groomsman
Aontae is another one of the OGs from his child hood and beyond. Denzel will always remember Aontae as the adorable kid with the big afro from 7th grade. Aontae and Denzel really connected in high school after Aontae was successfully peer pressured into joining marching band. It was loads of fun, and Denzel and friends were able to share Aontae's first time at Disneyland together. A memorable day indeed! Denzel is honored to call Aontae his groomsman.
Abra Smith
Bridesmaid
Abra's first impression of Heather was as a regular patron of Java Junction. Shortly after Heather had left JJ and was working at AMS, by kismet, Abra found herself working there as well. From the moment she read the announcement of Abra's arrival in her work email, Heather knew Abra was meant to be in her life. It didn't take long for them to become best friends in and out of work. Even after only knowing each other for a year they knew they would be supporting each other in their weddings and Heather is so excited for that day to finally arrive.
Roy Juarez
Groomsman
Roy and Denzel met at UCSC. They both studied electrical engineering and ended up being lab partners in one of their classes. Roy was a smart guy and great to get a long with. Turned out that Denzel and Roy both needed a new roomate at the same time, so they moved in together. They became great friends after living together and studying together over the next three years. A real example of iron sharpening iron in the academia sense. They used to pack up their bags with oatmeal and hard boiled eggs and be in lab until 3 in the morning or later! Denzel is honored to call Roy his groomsman.
Kara Hoppis

Heather and Kara also became friends through their work at AMS. They really bonded when Heather came into work one day and suddenly needed a place to live and Kara was just about to have a room open up in her condo. Heather really misses biking down West Cliff and sharing a cocktail or craft beer, but can't wait to share one celebrating the future Mrs. Mapp.
Tauvin Pursley
Groomsman
Tauvin was introduced to Denzel by Shabir. Tauvin produces, and manages his own studio "Shanty Town Studios" with Invertebrate Records in beautiful Santa Cruz. Ever since the first recording, Tauvin and Denzel were destined for great things. Tauvin is a phenomenal artist and inspiring musician. Together Denzel and Tauvin wrote and recorded countless songs/albums. Spending almost every weekend together for over 5 years. Tauvin helped create the Dizzy Blapps (Denzel's Artist persona) that people know today. And Denzel will always cherish the creations they made and awesome times shared. And of course there will be many more to come! Denzel is honored to call Tauvin his groomsman.
Preet Singh
Groomsman
Preet and Denzel met through their work at Lockheed Martin. They bonded over their daily oatmeal, basketball, Warzone and Naruto. They have been on many adventures and debauchery. All fun aside, Preet is a great friend, a great listener and gives great advice. Preet is a social butterfly, so catch him flying around the party. Denzel is honored to call Preet his groomsman.
Eron Lake
Officiant
Eron met Denzel in college while they both studying engineering and bonded over music. They worked closely together as Co-Directors starting their own band the Kadence Keys. They worked together in multiple clubs such as National Society Black Engineering and Black Men’s Association. After college Denzel moved into Erons condo, at the same time that he started dating Heather. Erons place was a home to both Denzel and Heather and they got extra close as they sheltered in place together for 2020. Eron felt like an obvious choice for marrying the couple as he got to know both Denzel and Heather individually and as a couple. It means a lot to the couple that Eron can officiate this special day.
