Question

How Do I Get to the Wedding Venue?

Answer

We are organizing shuttle buses from the center of Reims to the wedding venue. To guarantee that you have a seat on the shuttle, please RSVP NO LATER THAN 1 SEPTEMBER 2021. If you would like to organize your own transportation (for more flexibility), we have a list of car services at our disposal that we are happy to share. Please e-mail erininchampagne@gmail.com for information on personal taxis and car services.

Question

How Do I Get From Paris to Reims?

Answer

There are two main options! Car & Train. Cars can be rented directly from the airport. Driving is 1.5-2 hours to Reims from the airport. The SNCF has a TGV that leaves many times a day from Gare de l'Est (once every 30 minutes at peak hours, once every two hours during the day). The train is non-stop and takes 35 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend this way of travel as you get to really appreciate the countryside, is much faster than driving and drops you off in the center of downtown (across the street from Place d'Erlon). The train can cost as little as 27 Euros if purchasing in advance and as much as 60 euros for a high peak first class ticket. To find train times and purchase tickets, download the OUI SNCF application on your mobile device. You can find schedules and purchase tickets all in one. WARNING: If you wait until the very last minute to buy your ticket, you will not get a seat and will be in standing room between cars.

Question

Can I Train from CDG directly to Reims?

Answer

Yes you can! There are trains multiple times a day from CDG Airport directly to the Champagne-Ardenne train station. This station is approximately 8 kilometers outside of the city or Reims. From there you can either take a tram to downtown or a taxi, depending on the time of day. The train prices are relatively similar to the TGV, and tickets can be booked through the OUI SNCF mobile app. Tickets can also be bought at the station but gives you less of a guarantee as it will be closer to the departure time. Remember...standing room applies in France!

Question

Will My Electronic Devices Work in France?

Answer

Oui...and non. You will need a standard continental converter for any and all electronic devices you bring from non-European continental countries (this includes Britain). Most phones, computers and other small devices do just fine with the power conversion. CAUTION: This does not apply for hair dryers, hair straighteners, irons, etc... Power conversions do not work with these devices and WILL LEAD TO EXPLODING OUTLETS. Trust me, I've done it. Most hotels and rental spaces have hair dryers included. If you need any other kind of high power primping device, I would recommend buying an inexpensive one in country.
