Questions

If you have any other questions that we did not answer here, please text or call 419-989-7059.
Question

Is the wedding postponed?

Answer

Yes, for the safety and health of our guests we have decided to postpone our wedding to September 12th, 2021 at the same location in Vermilion, OH. We will still be getting married this year, but this is a private intimate ceremony with just close family on September 13th, 2020 at Walton Lake in Crestline, OH. This was a difficult decision to make, but we cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in 2021!

Question

Cell phone and photography policy

Answer

During the ceremony please shut off or silence all cell phones and be present in the moment! We have hired a professional photographer to take pictures of the ceremony and parts of the reception, so please do not be that person that ruins their shots. During the reception, phones can be turned on and we encourage personal photos during that time that do not disrupt the professional photographer. We have also set up a way for our guests to share pictures they take during the reception using the guest app. The Guest app can be downloaded in the app store, make an account, search the event code Headingtoherring, and start adding pictures for everyone to see.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We do not expect guests to be wearing suit and ties or ballgowns to our wedding. However, please dress appropriately as you may be captured in pictures. Additionally, dress accordingly to the weather as it could be either chilly or humid because it's Ohio. Our wedding is beach themed, so formal beach wear, is more than acceptable. Examples of appropriate attire for guests include: sun dresses, khakis pants, polo shirts, etc.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

To keep things on schedule, guests please arrive between 3:00 pm and 3:15pm. When you arrive our ushers will assist you to the side courtyard where the ceremony will take place.

Question

Are children able to attend?

Answer

As much as we want your children to be a part of our special day, the outside ceremony takes place on a cliff over Lake Erie and during the reception we will have an open bar. Therefore, we strongly recommend that young children under the age of eight do not attend because of these safety risks.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have a food allergy please contact me immediately, so I can be aware of this and try to accommodate your need. We have tried to be very considerate in picking foods to accommodate food allergies. Items will have labels as to what it is, but if you are unsure what ingredients were used please do not hesitate to ask the cater. In addition, we have special ordered wedding cupcakes that are gluten free. If the gluten free allergy applies to you tell us, as these cupcakes will be in the kitchen separate from the others to avoid cross contamination.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the venue?

Answer

Transportation will be provided to and from hotels within a reasonable distance from the venue. We will be reserving rooms at a particular hotel for guests, more information on this is located in the traveler tab of our website.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, we have plenty of parking spaces! But to get as many cars as possible we will have an attendant directing you on where to park. Spaces in front of the main entrance will be reserved for the wedding party, cater, and handicapped guests.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Wedding invitations will be sent out the beginning on May, please RSVP by the beginning of June either on this website or sending us the RSVP card back through the mail. On the card please include the number of guests and write any accommodations or food allergies.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
