We're getting married!

We met at Glenwood Heights Elementary when our fourth grade teacher placed our desks across the aisle from each other on the seating chart. Neither of us are really sure how we started talking, but we became friends shortly after that. We'd run around at recess together and sit with each other during lunch. Halfway through the year, Jake moved and had to change schools. We stayed in touch as much as a couple of ten-year-olds can; we'd talk on the phone (on the landline!) and our moms would drive us to the other's house on the weekends. But we lost touch around sixth grade, since we didn't have cell phones and social media wasn't on the scene yet. Fast forward to summer of 2018... Jake found Maddie on Instagram and sent her a message saying, "Hey, I hope this isn't weird, but were we friends as kids?" Of course, Maddie remembered Jake but was a little cautious as to why some guy she hadn't talked to in years was reaching out. About six months later, after chatting on and off for a bit, we finally met up for coffee. And soon, we were getting together a few times a week for brunch, dinner, more coffee, et cetera, just as a pair of friends who were catching up after a long time. But (spoiler) it turned into more than that.
