Hop on the Rio Grande trail, ride to the iconic Woody Creek Tavern, and have a margarita for your efforts. This tavern is essentially a Hunter S. Thompson shrine. This tavern was the daily hangout and unofficial office for the gonzo journalist.
This road has restricted access to vehicles and is a beautiful ride with scenic views of the iconic Maroon Bells. You can ride into town afterwards and have a snack.

"Doc" Holliday, the famous gambler, gunslinger, and DENTIST, famously came to Glenwood Springs in 1887 hoping the hot springs and vapor caves would cure his advanced tuberculosis. They did not. However, Iron Mountain has 32 mineral rich hot spring pools terraced along the Colorado River.
