For those of you who haven't been to Pictou Island, there's lots you should know! Pictou Island is a small island in the Northumberland Strait. There are many things that make Pictou Island unique – these things add to the charm and beauty of the island and also mean visiting involves some extensive planning. - You need to bring everything you need - food, water, alcohol, etc. There is one small store on the island (http://www.pictouislandwoodentents.com/projects-1) but for the most part you should bring what you need. The night of the wedding, dinner and some beer and wine will be provided, otherwise you should bring what you need in a cooler! - Travel to and from the island is limited. We will share a schedule of boats coming to and from the island and ask you to sign up for a "to" and "from" boat in the coming weeks. There's also the option of the Pictou Island Ferry (http://www.pictouislandcharters.ca/ferry-schedule/) which has a limited schedule. If you are planning on taking the ferry be on time (be early!) and make reservations ahead of time.
