Flight
This is the closest airport to where we live, it is about a 1-hour drive to our wedding venue from here. This airport is also the easiest to connect to other destinations around Europe :)
Travel Note
With multiple guests' arrival times and individual itineraries, we decided it's best to let everyone plan their travel to Fulda in a way that best suits their travel plans/preferences. We recommend reaching Fulda by train, it's about a 1-hour train ride from Frankfurt Main. Of course, you and your group could arrange a private ride from the airport to Fulda with a shuttle or taxi service.
Train
In regards to traveling by train, we recommend downloading the DB Navigator app linked below. This works for all travel in Germany. From the Frankfurt Airport you can connect to Frankfurt (Main) station which is about a 12 min ride. When on public transportation the central train station will be listed the German way as Frankfurt Hbf or Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. YT video of connecting to the main station from the airport here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZcrACnN3No On DB Navigator App select Fulda as your destination.
Hotel
We recommend staying here the night before our wedding. Reserve as you normally would, there isn't a code to book here. There are two B&B Hotels in Fulda, be sure to book the one with Hbf in the name (the one that is linked), this is the one that is closest to the Fulda train station. This hotel is both walkable to the Fulda train station and the location of our welcome drinks the night before the wedding. We will also pick up guests here the afternoon of our wedding to be shuttled to the wedding venue.
Shuttle
August 24, 2025 12:30 pm
We will provide a shuttle from the hotel in Fulda (B&B HOTEL Fulda-Hbf) to our wedding venue the afternoon of our wedding. This will give you plenty of time to have breakfast at a cafe, walk around, and start getting ready. Look at our Fulda Google Maps link in the Things To Do section for recs.
Hotel
Everyone will stay on-site in the castle hotel rooms the night of our wedding. Please book directly on the venue website, (linked below). It is in German, just translate the page to English to help you with your booking. When prompted "We are guests of" please reference Hayley & Christoph. The venue is small in that you should only stay there the night of our wedding, you wouldn't want to extend your stay to the night before as well as there will be a different wedding party there and there isn't much to do in Romrod outside of the Castle. PS. Bring earplugs if you want to go to bed early, you could hear some noise from the party in your room.
Travel Note
Uber: Uber is not popular in Germany, they primarily use Taxis. You may be able to order a ride from the airport into Frankfurt. I have not tried to order a ride as long as an hour away (for those thinking about Ubering from the airport to the venue). Taxis: You can taxi from the airport to Fulda. Use Taxis in Fulda/surrounding local areas, there aren't Ubers in rural Germany. Please reference these taxi numbers if you're in the local area: (We'll provide these soon!)
Hotel
For anyone who might want to stay a night in Frankfurt, either before/after the wedding we recommend this hotel, we've stayed here before and thought the location was great/central to the city.
