We first met at a happy hour with some work friends in the summer of 2016. However, it was not until a few months later that the relationship really began. One of the first events we attended together was a Major League Soccer game in the Bank of America stadium. Needless to say, that was the first of many adventures, including going to the Kentucky Derby, traveling to Scotland and Germany to visit Katie (Hayley's sister), and vacationing in the Grand Caymans to celebrate Michael's (Chase's brother) graduation. We can't wait for this next adventure together!

Like many of us during the pandemic, Chase and Hayley had talked about getting their first dog. However, Chase was a little hesitant. As the only one of us who had actually owned a dog before, he knew how much work and commitment a dog would be. That said, Hayley was quite convincing (and persistent), bombarding him with daily puppy pictures. At long last, Chase agreed to adopt an adorable Frenchton (half French Bulldog, half Boston Terrier). We picked up Iggy on September 30th, 2020 on Chase's 30th birthday. To no one's surprise, Chase has quickly become Iggy's biggest fan and you will often catch them taking a nap on the couch together on Sunday afternoon. We could not feel more lucky to have Iggy as part of our little family!

Despite Hayley's best efforts to guess when Chase was going to propose, Chase managed to surprise Hayley on Friday, March 5th, 2021 at the Grove Park Hotel in Asheville, NC. As you can see in the photo at the top of the website, Chase convinced Hayley to grab a drink at the hotel bar to watch the sunset before dinner. After a number of minor hiccups (like Hayley trying to grab a table inside), Chase finally got Hayley to the pre-planned location, where he had a photographer waiting to capture the special moment! To top it all off, Chase had both sets of parents and our close friends waiting for us back in Charlotte with a surprise party. An incredible weekend and great start to our engagement!
