If you are looking for the local experience, go to Hickory Park! Known for their ice cream, atmosphere, and history. Our personal favorite bbq spot in Ames is Cornbred, you can't go wrong with any of their bbq, and we highly recommend trying the Cornbread Mini Muffins and their cocktails! If you're looking for something on the fancier side, head over to Aunt Maudes for a Chili Cured Filet you'll never forget. For breakfast, right by the Springhill Suites is Flip'N Jacks Pancake House, their Chicken & Waffles have never let Hayden down. Britta recommends going to The Cafe in Ames if you are looking for a more upscale breakfast experience! What are restaurant recommendations without Mexican food? No promises it will live up to Texas... but also near the Springhill Suites is El Azteca, and our Friday night spot is El Jefe. Lastly, for those looking to venture out head up to Gilbert for our favorite date night spot. Grill your own steaks and Texas toast at Open Flame!
