FAQs

Before asking Haven or Jessica any questions, please check to see if it's already been answered here first!
Question

Where do we park?

Answer

Parking is available on the street in front of Bayliss Park Hall as well as all the way around Bayliss Park (the fountain) and in the back of the building. Please do NOT park by the side door, as that space is reserved for the catering and other vendors.

Question

Do we have to pay for parking?

Answer

Nope! On the block that Bayliss Park is on, parking is free on Saturdays!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is black-tie! This means wear your best clothing, think of it as dressing up for the red carpet! This also means absolutely NO jeans please of any kind! Suits, slacks or khakis would work best. Ladies, if your old prom dress still fits you, go ahead and wear it! Happen to have a ball gown or fancy dress that you're still looking for a place to wear to? THIS is the place! The Bayliss Park Hall is an early 1900's old Victorian mansion, which is also the theme of the wedding. Keeping this style in mind may help! Colors to avoid: The bridal party colors are neutral pinks and dark red, so please avoid those if you can. And as always, only the bride is allowed to wear white!

Question

Why aren't you having any alcohol?

Answer

Neither the bride or groom drink, so we want this to be an alcohol-free event. In our eyes, alcohol can cause problems so we want to avoid those. There will be a hot chocolate bar and other drinks to enjoy! (Also a mini pancake bar during cocktail hour!)

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your name and "+1", "guest", or "plus one" is written on your invitation, then yes! You do not have to by all means, but if you would like to, you may! If you do NOT see this on your invitation however, then unfortunately you are not premitted to bring a plus one. We are very limited on how many guests we can have. The pre-written plus ones on these invites have been included in our total capacity so we cannot have any more. If we've allowed you to bring a plus one, this will also show up in the RSVP list as "your name's Guest". If you do not see this, then we are sorry but you are not allowed to bring someone with you (if you would like to though, please speak to Haven or Jessica first so we can try to make accomodations! However we can't guarantee it.) If you will be bringing a plus one, please RSVP for them!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

If your child's name is on the invitation, then yes they can come! If it is not, then we ask that you please leave them at home. Our venue is over 100 years old, we do not want to have any accidents that would cause damage. Since it is also a smaller venue, we have very limited space on how many people we can have. So no, unfortunately we cannot include everyone's children.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

If you are attending the ceremony, arriving 15-30 minutes before it begins (3:30pm) will work best. This givesus as much time as possible to have everything ready and will allow everyone to find a place to park, familiarize themselves with the area, have some time to mingle, and be seated. If you are attending the reception, 15-45 minutes before it begins (approx. 5pm) would also be perfect! If you arrive in this timeframe you can participate in cocktail hour while the bridal party is taking photos. You can have a snack at the mini pancake bar, find your seat, and mingle with the other guests before the party starts!

Question

Is the venue wheelchair-accessible?

Answer

Unfortunately, only the ceremony will be wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp that can be set up if one is needed. The only way to get to the reception is the staircase, as it is in the upstairs ballroom. They do not have an elevator. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

Smoking is not allowed inside due to fire hazards. The upstairs balcony tables will have ash trays on them for those who wish to use them. You may also go outside at any time!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Everything is being held indoors, so no worries if it rains! If guests would like to explore outside, you can head across the street to see the Bayliss Park fountain! (Sadly the water won't be turned on until May, but there are statues, flowers, and local businesses to enjoy!)

Question

What is there to do in the area?

Answer

If you arrive early and need some time to kill or want to stay in the area longer, we have some recommendations that you can find in the 'Things to Do' tab at the top of the website!

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

Glad you asked! The entrees offered will be garlic herb chicken breast as well as oven-baked ham. For sides, there will be oven-roasted red potatoes, corn, and rolls with butter. Snacks and dessert will also be provided.
