Hotel
A nice place to stay near downtown Crested Butte.
Travel Note
Gunnison has a regional airport, though it is very small and can be pricey to fly into. Check flights flying into Montrose (90 Minute Drive) or Grand Junction (2ish hour Drive). Take the route over kebler pass. Its dirt but usually in good condition and much faster than going to Montrose. Or HWY 92 from Crawford east is a beautiful drive on the rim of the Black Canyon National Park. If you fly to Gunnison, they have rental cars at the airport, or there is a bus that goes to Crested Butte http://www.gunnisonvalleyrta.com/ DIA in Denver is always an option, but the drive from the airport is around 4 hours.
Travel Note
If driving from the Denver area, then I prefer HWY 285 and going over Cottonwood pass near Buena Vista. This will save you at least 30 minutes and is a much nicer drive than Monarch pass. Take the Jacks Cabin Cutoff in Taylor Canyon. There is no gas between Buena Vista and Crested Butte, so be sure to top up in BV!
