High Cliff State Park
Do you like the outdoors? Head to High Cliff State Park for a picnic and a hike with scenic views. Emily and her dad used to get subway sandwiches and head here for a picnic and a hike!
Victoria's Italian Cuisine
Stop in at Victoria’s for an Italian lunch. Take a look around at all the hand painted walls and architecture and see if you can point out where Emily and David got engaged! Emily’s favorite dish here is the cheese filled tortellini with alfredo sauce and a cup of the cheese tortellini soup. David’s favorite dish is the meat lovers pizza and a salad with Italian dressing.
Marcus Valley Grand Cinema
Have a free afternoon but it’s way too hot outside? Head to the Marcus Valley Grand Cinema for movies, popcorn, and sodas all while enjoying the dream loungers in every theater room.
The Fire
Pick a ceramic piece and paint away! The Fire will take your piece and fire it for you and have it ready for pickup in a week.
Fox River Mall
If you like shopping, this is the place to go. There’s many different stores to choose from and a marvelous food court. Food ranges from Panda Express, to Subway, to Sbarro, and even a Rocky Rococo’s Pizza.
Badger Sports Park
Arcade games, laser tag, go karts, bowling, and mini golf can all be found at this amazing Game Center. If you like laser tag and arcade games, this is the place to go.
Heckrodt Wetland Reserve
Admission is free and you can often see wildlife meandering around. Deer and turkeys are not very afraid of humans and you can get some amazing photos while annoying nature. (David and Emily took most of their engagement photos here!)
Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park
If you have younger kids or want to explore your inner child, the trampoline park is a fun place to do so.
The Breaking Point LLC
Are you as stressed as we are? Schedule a time to go to the breaking point to either smash some glass or throw some paint. One creates a canvas for you to take home and the other can help relieve some stress. (David and Emily went here and made paintings for an early celebration of their 1 year anniversary of dating!)
608 Axe Throwing
Axe throwing is a fun activity to enjoy with friends. The 608 will teach you how to correctly throw an axe while also learning some games to play with the targets. Emily and David went here on their second date!
Midwest Super Speedway
If you have a need for speed, definitely make a stop at the Midwest Motor Speedway. Emily and David went here after a movie date to the Marcus Valley Grand to see the F1 movie. They definitely had a blast racing each other!
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
If you love art half as much as Emily does, a trip to the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is a must. Admission is free.
Michelangelo's Coffee House
Best art related place to stop for coffee and a pastry before or after going to the museum.
Lynn's of Madison
Looking to try a new hobby, get a mat and a picture frame for that one picture you’ve been meaning to hang up, or want to replace some art materials? Lynn’s of Madison is the best place to stop. It’s small and all the workers are extremely friendly. They have great deals on tons of art materials and have some things you couldn’t otherwise find in a big box store.

Milwaukee Art Museum
Gorgeous art museum right on the water. Admission is NOT free but can definitely be worth it.
St. Germain Flea Market
Every Monday during the summer, the St. Germain flea market bustles to life. You can find almost anything here. Emily has bought all kinds of things from trinkets, to gifts, to artwork. The finds are endless! Duane Hase even bought a wood burning stove from one of the flea market vendors!
