Harrison once swore she’d never date anyone from work—or anyone younger than her. Then came Ben. We met at Texas A&M while representing our company on a career progression panel, which was supposed to include four other people. But in true corporate fashion, it ended up just being the two of us. With no one else to share the spotlight, we got to know each other very well—and quickly. Harrison was already a seasoned pro, while Ben was less than a year out of school, still bright-eyed and caffeinated. What started as a professional connection turned into something a little more… cardio-focused. After the panel, Harrison slid into Ben’s DMs on Strava (yes, Strava) to point out that we were running the same pace—and suggested we go on a run together. One run turned into more, and soon we found ourselves ringing in the New Year at the Houston Museum of Natural Science on our first date. When we officially started dating, we talked about the possibility of Ben needing to move to Washington for work. Harrison said she’d be all in—not in spite of the move, but because of it. (She figured she’d get to tag along.) Plot twist: work ended up sending us to Louisiana instead. Very similar to the Pacific Northwest, as you can imagine. Since then, we’ve run and wandered our way across the globe—from the Dolomites of Italy to the glaciers of Iceland, from the Alps of Switzerland to the streets of India. We even survived a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in Istanbul. It’s been an unforgettable adventure so far, and we’re beyond excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife. Even more meaningful is that we get to celebrate it with all of you. Thank you for being part of our story—we can’t wait to see you at the wedding!
