welcome to our vow renewal

Knowing we would get married quickly was something that anyone could have placed a bet on - our parents had a feeling, our friends teased, and it felt right to us. From the moment we met on our first date, we have been inseparable. No deployment or amount of miles between different home-states would keep us from each other. We had plans for a ceremony and reception while we lived in North Carolina, but unfortunately Covid had stopped us in our tracks. We were shut down, not able to leave city limits, and the military had put restrictions on visitors from out of state. We were absolutely devastated and had no choice but to cancel everything that was already set in place. However, we were bound and determined to have our special day no matter what. We decided to pivot our plans into something that (given our circumstances) was achievable. We called around to get an officiant, asked a few of Kolton's fellow Marine Corps friends to be our witnesses, and within the week we had our ceremony planned. While we were both extremely upset that Covid stopped our family from being present, we made a promise to each other that we would plan a vow renewal to commemorate our perfectly imperfect day and re-celebrate our love and commitment to each other - but this time, surrounded by friends and family. While we would never trade our sunny June evening in the park for the world, we are so very excited to plan a day that helps bridge in the gaps of what was missed out on. We can't wait to see you there!
