Our Story

Harrison and I officially met at the end of 2016. If you ask Harrison, he will say that he knew of me for several years before we met. I had no idea he existed until late 2016. Harrison's good friend Logan (groomsman and matchmaker) played on the same basketball team as my older brother Dakota. I was friends with Logan's sister, Harrison was friends with Logan, one thing lead to another and we were officially introduced at Rock and Jump in O'Fallon, MO in approximately November of 2016. We started talking and hanging out as friends in the Spring of 2017. I initiated a break in communication over the Summer and we re-connected in the Fall of 2017. Harrison asked me out for our official first date in November of 2017 (November 25th to be exact). I still remember feeling soo nervous for him to meet my family on our first date. When Harrison picked me up for our first date, he introduced himself to my parents, niece, and older brother, Drake. As we were leaving to start the date, Drake threw a 9mm bullet to Harrison while saying "this moves a lot faster after curfew". Drake's comment served as a perfect introduction for Harrison to the Nelsen family dynamics and I already know Harrison is already planning on emulating it in the future (Haven and Hazel this is your official warning). Since that November night in 2017, Harrison and I have remained both in love and fully dedicated to one other. The beautiful thing about entering a relationship at a young age is that you get to experience so many life events and transitions together. Harrison's first amateur MMA fight, graduating high school, the birth of my second nephew, the start of undergrad, the adoption of two of my sisters, the COVID-19 lockdown, and the birth of Harrison's nephew all were experienced within our first 2-3 years of dating. In 2021 Harrison's almost entire immediate family moved from St. Louis, MO to Estero, FL and Harrison made the incredibly tough decision to stay in St. Louis. Harrison and I then moved in together in 2021. 2021 also welcomed the adoption of my third sister and my older brother getting married. 2022 came with the birth of Harrison's second nephew, my college graduation, and my start of grad school. 2023 held 2 different month-long business trips for Harrison, the birth of Harrison's third nephew, and my graduation from graduate school. In 2024 Harrison received a major promotion at work, I started a new job, Harrison's older brother got engaged, and my family welcomed the birth of my third nephew. In 2025 two of my brothers got married, my 4th nephew was born, and FINALLY, after 7 wonderful years, Harrison and I got engaged. Over the 8 years of being together, we have gotten to witness and experience so many accomplishments, transitions, changes, and challenges together. Not only have we grown closer and stronger as a couple, but I can also confidently say that we have pushed each other to be the better versions of ourselves. We cannot wait everything 2026 and the rest of our lives hold for both us and our families.
