Coming from the West Coast? Not to fear, the midwest is pretty cool! Here is what we suggest: Red River Gorge (Slade, KY): About a 1.5-hour drive from Cincinnati, Red River Gorge is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts. It's famous for its natural sandstone arches, hiking trails, and rock climbing opportunities. Hocking Hills State Park (Logan, OH): A 2-hour drive from Cincinnati, Hocking Hills offers incredible hiking trails with waterfalls, rock formations, and caves. It’s a stunning place for a day trip, with highlights like Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, and Cedar Falls. Kentucky Bourbon Trail: While a little farther out, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail is an excellent day trip for fans of bourbon. You can explore distilleries in the nearby towns, like Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace. Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH): If you’re up for a longer day trip (about 4 hours north), Cedar Point is one of the most famous amusement parks in the world.

Skyline Chili

Skyline Chili

5214 Bardes Road, Mason, OH 45040

The grooms recommendation for Kim's California friends and family, and any out of town guests. He recommends the cheese coneys and the signature three way. Skyline Chili is like the love child of a spaghetti dinner and a sloppy joe — if the love affair also involved a helping of cinnamon, cocoa, and mystery spices. Imagine a bowl of spaghetti, but instead of marinara, it's topped with a meaty, sauce that's half chili, half savory dessert. Then, just for fun, pile on a mountain of shredded cheddar cheese that can only be described as "a cheese avalanche." It's a flavor rollercoaster where you're not quite sure if you're going to finish it with a "wow" or a "what just happened?" Either way, Skyline Chili is a Cincinnati treasure — it’s weird, it’s wonderful, and it'll have you asking, "How do I feel about cinnamon in my chili?" (Spoiler: You’ll probably love it.)
