How It All Started…

February 2020

Harrison and Emily first met with a swipe right on Bumble! A few days later, they went out on their first date to Taverna Agora in downtown Raleigh. Harrison picked Emily up at Meredith College as her friends watched out the window to note his license plate number (just in case!). He thought the date was over before it even started because of his struggle with parking in downtown Raleigh. However, this was just the start of a great first date. Harrison and Emily enjoyed the dinner (especially the Limoncello cake) but enjoyed each other’s company even more! What really sealed the deal for a second date later that week was the connection that Harrison and Emily both have lifetime rights to seats in Section 2 at NC State football games. Taverna Agora and NC State football will forever have a special place in our hearts and our relationship!

How He Proposed…

October 16, 2021

When Harrison and Emily first met, Emily was in the Spring semester of her Senior year at Meredith College. With starting their relationship right before COVID hit, Emily never got to show Harrison around Meredith College. On October 16, they decided to go on a morning date to breakfast and walk around Meredith. Emily was excited to finally show Harrison around Meredith and see the new lake at Meredith. They started the morning with Waffle House on Hillsborough Street before walking all around Meredith. Being the planner that she is, Emily had an entire tour planned that started at her Freshman year dorm and ended at the apartment building where she lived Senior year. After the tour, Harrison asked to go back to the front fountain to see it a little better. Once they were at the front, Harrison tried to turn Emily around by asking if they could see the new lake from where they were standing. Emily looked and quickly turned back around to tell him no. She found Harrison on one knee and fumbling to get the ring box out of his sock where he had hidden it for the walk. According to Harrison, Emily said yes before he could even finish asking the question!
