What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

Seating will open at 3:30pm and the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm. Please ensure you will have enough time to park and walk to the venue to be seated before the ceremony starts. Once the ceremony starts, you will not be able to enter until the ceremony is completed and cocktail hour begins.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same place?

Answer

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Surety Hotel. The cocktail hour will take place outside (weather permitting) and the ceremony and reception will take place inside.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. Dress code is cocktail attire. We suggest men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie and women wear a midi or knee-length dress or dressy separates. Bridesmaids will be wearing light brown colored dresses and groomsmen will be in black suits.

Is there parking located near the venue?

Answer

Yes! The options for parking include: 1. Surety Hotel valet parking is $40 per night and car drop off is located on 6th Ave right outside of the hotels main doors. 2. Surety Hotel offers self-parking across the street from the hotel at 604 Mulberry St., Des Moines, IA 50309 for $30 per night. Guests must validate parking with the front desk upon arrival to receive hotel discount pricing 2. Public Parking at 422 Walnut St Des Moines, IA 50309 United States 3. Surface Parking lot at 100 SW Fifth St Des Moines, IA 50309 United States 4. Public Parking at 750 Mulberry St Des Moines, IA 50309 United States ($1 per hour or $10 per day)

Will alcohol be served at the reception?

Answer

Yes, Beer, Seltzers, Soft Drinks, and Water will be provided. Other drink options will be available for purchase.
