COVID Precautions

Answer

We're asking that everyone attending be either fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID test no more than 3 days prior to the event. We also ask that anyone who may have been exposed to COVID get a negative test regardless of vaccination status in the 2-3 days prior to the event. If you need help finding a testing location in the Charlottesville area please let us know and we can provide some options. If you are no longer able to attend our event (and we absolutely understand), please let us know ASAP. Any questions please reach out to us at our email HarrisCelebration.10.10.21@gmail.com. Ample free street parking on 2nd, 1st, Market, and High Streets. First and Market Parking--1st St N, Charlottesville, VA 22902. $3/hr. 3 minute walk to Common House Water Street Garage--200 E Water St, Charlottesville, VA 22902. $2/hr/first hr free. 5 minute walk to Common House Market Street Garage--546 E Market St, Charlottesville, VA 22902. $2/hr/first hr free. 6 minute walk to Common House Ride shares such as Uber and Lyft are also available.

Party Venue: Common House

Common House is located at 206 W. Market St in a historic brick building previous known as Mentor Lodge—originally a social club for the African American community of Vinegar Hill built in 1913. We love so much about this three story space--the exposed brick throughout, eclectic art and furniture, rooftop views which give off a welcoming and cozy vibe.

For those of you that feel more comfortable being outside, the rooftop will be open for the party. You can mingle, drink and eat outside.

Adults Only Please (celebration at Common House)

Answer

While we love your little ones, our celebration is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. We are happy to help you find arrangements. See our email above.

October in Charlottesville is generally pretty nice but it can get chilly at times, especially at night. There is a rooftop with seating at Common House. You may want to bring a light jacket or wrap to enjoy the space.
