Update

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have decided to postpone our wedding to September 19th. We appreciate your love, support, flexibility and understanding as we make these adjustments. We look forward to celebrating our big day with you in September!

Our Story

"The play's the thing..." - William Shakespeare, Hamlet

Shundra and Harris met while performing a spoof of the movie "Coming to America". Harris played the king and Shundra played his son's girlfriend. Though they did not talk much during rehearsals, they frequently stole glances and smiled warmly at each other. Shundra and Harris were charmed with each other's expressiveness on stage and wanted to get to know each other better. A month after their successful performance, they finally messaged each other on Facebook. They met for a lunch date at Bread & Co. The food was terrible but the conversation was delightful. They naturally felt comfortable around each other. What really broke the ice was an impromptu hangout in a study lounge after a concert. They listened to music and talked for hours about their families and lives. They walked through campus in the moonlight and Harris gave Shundra a tour of his research lab. It felt like they knew each other their whole lives. Shundra and Harris are each other's biggest fans. They are both very silly and can make each other laugh like no one else. They support each other's dreams and inspire one another to do their best. They have remained as adventurous as the day they decided to act in a play on a whim. They went on their first couple's trip in October of 2014 to visit Ruby Falls, an underground waterfall at the base of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. Four years later on October 8th, 2018, Harris proposed to Shundra at the top of Lookout Mountain symbolizing the growth of their relationship from a fount of friendship to the summit of love. Shundra and Harris are excited to embark on a lifetime of climbing new and greater heights hand-in-hand. They look forward to you joining them in Nashville as they celebrate the start of their union as husband and wife.
