Partly owned by Texas legend, Pat Green, this is one of the most famous bars in Dallas! Down-home venue with locally-sourced American eats, Texas brews, and a huge outdoor patio with live music. Even in the winter, all of the outdoor spots in town are equally as fun and enjoyable with a jacket and a patio heater, so don't be afraid to check them out.
Located on the famous Dallas Katy Trail, one of the best outdoor patios in town for a drink, or three! Make sure to grab a Summer Beer & Loaded Cheese Fries. This is also a great spot to catch any and all sports games on (although, you can thank us later we intentionally scheduled the weekend around Texas and Alabama football).
A Dallas staple featuring couture shopping as well as some of the best food in town. Pop into some of your favorite stores, or grab some food at a few of our go to restaurants: Mi Cocina & Honor Bar. Also, their Christmas lights are incredible and a sight to see this time of year!
Located 10 minutes south from downtown Dallas, this district is known for its diverse restaurants and nightlife, chic independent fashion stores and colorful street art. A few of our personal favorite spots are Eno's Pizza, Bishop Cider Company, and Emporium Pies for dessert!
Located about 1 mile from the Adolphus Hotel, this 5.2-acre deck park was built right over the recessed Woodall Rodgers Freeway in downtown Dallas. The park is home to a performance pavilion, restaurants, walking trails, dog park, children’s park and games area.
For those of our guests who are art enthusiasts, the Dallas Arts District is the largest contiguous urban arts district in the nation! This cultural hub includes the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Crow Collection of Asian Art.
A beautiful 3.5-mile jogging path along the now-defunct MKT railroad line, stretching from the southern edge of SMU to the American Airlines Center. Maddie's mom liked to tell people it was named after her. A personal family favorite for walks with the dogs, as both of our parent's houses are located right nearby! Stop by Katy Trail Ice House for a beverage after your walk.
For all you history buffs, this is the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald stood when he allegedly shot President John F. Kennedy. Located on the Sixth Floor of the Dallas County Administration Building (formerly the Texas School Book Depository), the museum examines the life, times, death and legacy of JFK. As a non-museum person, even Maddie found it entertaining and interesting!
This museum features 11 exhibit halls, which include 3-D simulations, hands-on activities, interactive kiosks and educational games. The gorgeous building, exhibit halls and outdoor spaces all serve as living science lessons. You don’t have to love science to love this museum!
The Museum features the Decision Points Theater, September 11th display, a full-size replica of the White House Oval Office, and a 20-foot-tall, 360-degree, video wall with a montage of the 44 U.S. Presidents. Located right near SMU's campus, where Tyler went to college!
