soul mate /ˈsōl ˌmāt/ noun plural noun: soulmates a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner This is what comes to my mind when I think of Haran, he is my best friend, my partner and the man I love all incorporated in one awesome person. We first met when I started at Fedex in December 2012, I was that doe-eyed girl excited and nervous to be coming into a big corporation and he was that cool, laid back guy that for SOME reason everyone adored. He made me feel nervous, and it didn't help that I thought he was very handsome but that didn't last very long as I soon realized that he was not available and also got a feeling that he didn't like me very much. After that I tried my best to avoid any sort of contact with him, there would be an occasional hi or even a smile if I was feeling extra nice that day. Eventually he left his department for another position which would take him to the second floor. I still saw him around but didn't think anything of it, well until I saw him at a club while out partying with my cousins. I remember my heart dropping and yelling over the loud music "Omg I know that guy!" At which point my cousin said "go talk to him, he's cute" I quickly shook my head saying "Not going to happen" but the universe works in mysterious ways because a few minutes later he came up to me and said hi, something that I was not expecting and quite honestly I did not really want. Sure he was cute, but who likes to see people from work that you don't really know? After that we kept bumping into one another and he always made it a point to come and say hi and make small talk which I thought was a little weird but ignored it. It wasn't until he slid into my dm on instagram that I really got talking to him...and after that we haven't been able to stop. Even though we have had our shares of ups and downs I haven't been able to get him out of my head or heart and that makes me sure he's the guy that I just couldn't let get away!

I have known Jyoti for about 5+ years, we used to work in the same office together. We worked in different departments and had very little contact with each other, with the exception of the occasional smile or 'Hi'. That all changed in 2016, when it first started at a club I was at with some friends and saw her with her entourage. I leaned into to my friends ear and said 'I know that Girl, I'm gonna go say Hi!'. He was supportive and told me to go for it. I went over and I could tell, she was trying hard to ignore me, but I didn't care and waved and said 'Hey Jyoti, How's it going?' and I leaned in for a hug (LMAO). She was a bit hesistant, but I maintained my forward motion and put my arms around her, much to her chagrin. I gave her the un-wanted hug and said bye and left. I left her and her unruly gang to be for the rest of the night. Then our fates came together permanently and I like to think it's because of Donald Trump. It was early November 2016 and Mr Trump had just won the US Presidental Election. Jyoti posted a picture on Instagram and captioned it #Mood. The picture was of her with a pouty look and hand under the chin. I woke up to see it and said 'Why Not!' and I messaged her and said 'Why so sad?' and she started talking about the disbelief that Donald Trump had won the election and was the most powerful man of the of the Free World. The conversation went from there onto other topics and eventually a few days later, I asked her out and out first date was attending her very first Toronto Raptors game (which they won!) From there, we had some ups and downs, but I finally came to my senses and realized she was the ONE FOR ME! I proposed to her in Mexico on New Years Eve and we started planning our wedding. I Love her to Death (LTD) and I am so grateful to have found a special soul like her.
