We first met through a pickleball group at church, where Alex was trying to teach Chas how to play for her first time. Chas, however, was more focused on questioning why pickleball scoring made absolutely no sense. Despite the friendly debate, Alex noticed we kept crossing paths in some of the same places we hung out - Tuesday night young adult services, run clubs, and mutual friend gatherings. After a few months of becoming friends and seeing each other around, one of Alex’s friends noticed Alex's interest and nudged him to ask Chas out, convinced that it was mutual (his friend was right!). For their first date, they spent the evening wandering around downtown Atlanta - stopping at The Nook for dinner, strolling through the Botanical Gardens (a personal favorite of Chas'), and capturing some silly photos. From the first date on, we were pretty much inseparable… spending time together through various mutual hobbies like walking the beltline, running in the mornings, and dancing in the park. There was one particularly memorable day to Alex while hiking in North Georgia and the sky completely fell out! We were told no rain on the radar and no hills, but we ran into both. Luckily after surviving the lightning storm, we still managed to have a sweet moment at a farmers market where we told each other how much we enjoyed being with each other... so much so that Alex didn’t waste much time making it official by the third date, which was the next day.
