Nancy: "Steve will tell you that it was supposed to be his first single summer living in the "Bachelor Pad" with a group of his three closest friends, but little did he know that he would stumble across me... literally. We met through mutual friends on a night that I had no intention on going out." Steve: "We ended up talking to each other the whole night and I finally convinced her friend that Nancy should give me her number." Nancy: "After a few days of texting, Steve called me, which is weird for my generation (the text-ers), so I ignored the call. He texted me to answer his call and I eventually became familiar with the routine (oh yeah... and I guess his charm too)." Steve: "The rest is, as they say, history."
Nancy: "Steve had come up with an elaborate story of a "family wedding" that we had to go to over the weekend and just as we were packed and ready to go, his mom calls to let us know that they were not going anymore. It didn't take much, but he convinced me that we should not waste our day and that we should instead go to San Francisco to visit a few of our favorite places. We had a picnic with wine and cheese at Baker's Beach, we took in the beautiful panoramic views at Dolores Park (with more of our favorite wine), and as we were about to choose a place to have dinner, Steve suggested that we go to the Palace of Fine Arts. So as we wandered around the Palace, we get to the center of the dome and Steve begins to express his love to me (as he normally did, sporadically). The next thing I know, Steve goes down on one knee holding a lavender velvet box. He opens the box, I see the ring, and a random man starts clapping. It was surreal. Enough for me to blackout in the moment. So as we walked around to the corner of the dome, I had Steve repeat his speech, but this time I happy cried and said yes! He let me know that this whole day was planned, showed me his itinerary, and we continued to our dinner reservations at the Cliff House. We had a romantic dinner and I had Steve repeat his speech over and over and over again... I couldn't help but cry every time." Steve: "Mission accomplished."
