In March of 2020, Spencer and I somehow met on a dating app. I say somehow, because neither of us had our locations stretched out as far as 2 hours away. It's always been fate that we were meant to meet, even Hinge knew it. After many facetimes and hours of talking, we first met on a camping trip in the rain on May 20th, 2020. On our second date, I met his mom. On our third date, he met my parents. In September of the same year, we moved in together, and in October, we got our gorgeous cat, Smokey. While we moved faster than most, I knew pretty quick that he was my guy, and we've been having fun together ever since.

While I'd dropped hints that proposing at the beach with our family there would be a great proposal, Spencer assured me it wouldn't be then. And I stupidly believed him. After dinner at one of my family's favorite spots, we headed out onto the dock to take photos. With my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, Spencer's mom, his twin sister and her husband there, we got all of the combination of photos we could think of before I thought we were ready to head out. As I turn around, Spencer was getting on one knee, tears in his eyes, unable to even get the words out. After many questions of "are you serious?!" I said yes, and many cards and flowers were waiting for us back at the house as we facetimed family and friends. It was such a special day, one we'll never forget.
