We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend—proof that sometimes your friends do know what’s best for you. Our first meeting? The Kroger parking lot. Romantic, right? But when Tiara laid eyes on Hunter, it was over. She was starstruck. “That is the most handsome man I’ve ever seen,” she thought. We went to Michael’s (yes, the craft store) to pick up art supplies, and on the drive to his place, Hunter was so deep in conversation he missed his exit. For a brief moment, Tiara considered the possibility that she was being kidnapped... but instead, she ended up painting Bob Ross landscapes over margaritas and her favorite meal. From day one, there was magic—something undeniable. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. We were fresh out of relationships, both a little guarded, a little stubborn, and maybe even a little dramatic (in a charming way, obviously). We took our time. Our “will-they-won’t-they” era lasted a year, filled with adventures, late-night talks, and feelings that kept growing even when we tried to pretend they weren’t, and eventually, what they had turned into something real. For Hunter, it happened during lockdown in 2020. We were in Florida, staying in a house lent to us by a family friend. No money, nowhere to go, nothing to do—except be together. That’s when he realized Tiara was the one constant in his life that truly mattered. And for Tiara—it was when she started fearing life without him. She found herself staying up at night, afraid of missing a single second of borrowed time. Whether it was fate, bad luck, or just the fragility of love, she didn’t know how long they’d have… but she craved every moment. Her smiles stretched wider, her laughter rang louder, her heart cracked open—and Hunter held every part of it gently. He loved her real self, completely. And, somehow, he made her believe in that self too. He turned her devil-may-care attitude into a true lust for life—especially a life shared with him. We made it official under a Florida sunset at his dad’s house in 2019. And ever since, we’ve been building a love that’s equal parts joy, depth, weirdness, and wild devotion.
